“Do we need a title to grasp the content/message of a work? To what extent does the title help us to ‘get into’ the work?
Is the title sometimes the right kick to get into the perfect mood? Especially in reduction, abstraction and minimal art, it often takes a captivating title to turn a black square into a poetic night sky.
The different approaches using materials, the references between the artists, insights and outlooks into new dimensions of art should enable an exciting dialogue and answer the question of the necessity of a title.”
