The scholarship for visual artists at the Hungarian Academy in Rome is the legacy of a tradition present in the life of the institution since 1927, whose heyday was the figurative art movement that became known as the “Roman School of Hungarian Artists” (1928-1948). The Academy's scholarship holders spend a month in the eternal city, during which they realise the creative work projects outlined in the application, gather inspiration and prepare the works that will later be presented to the public annually in a dedicated exhibition at the Academy. This year the scholarship holders' exhibition will be inaugurated on 12 June 2025, with the title “Echi Romani”.
